Burley Mountain
FIRE LOOKOUT

Built in 1934, the Burley Mountain tower was established as a lookout for forest fires. When technology took over that job, the Burley lookout transitioned into a radio repeater station. Today, the tower still stands tall as a historic landmark with soaring views of Mount Adams, Mount Hood, Mount Rainier, and Mount St Helens.

Although still standing, the lookout tower is in need of a serious restoration. Filson is partnering with the National Forest Foundation for this multi-year project, and GiantMouse will be raising money for the restoration across all four pop-up events . We will be selling a special Filson branded knife at our pop-up shops with 100% proceeds going to the Burley Mountain Lookout Tower. Once the restoration is complete, the lookout tower will be available to rent by the public on recreation.gov.

FILSON BRASS Clyde

The Clyde is named after the GiantMouse founders’ old favorite watering hole in Portland, “The Clyde Common,” which was once located at the ACE Hotel in the Pearl district. The Clyde has long been a GiantMouse classic, so we found it only fitting to choose this tool as our special memorandum of the GiantMouse x Filson tour.

At each of the four events, GiantMouse will be selling exclusive Filson Brass Clydes. These were made in limited quantities and will be sold on a first-come first-serve basis. Don’t fret if you miss out on the Clyde, there will be other special products available throughout the tour!

100% of the proceeds from the Brass Clyde’s will go to the NFF (National Forest Foundation) to fund the restoration of the Burley Mountain Fire Lookout Tower. To learn more about the NFF and their conservation efforts, click the button below!
